The UK has much to offer when it comes to off-road adventure if you know where to look. We've followed Jack Watson on Instagram for a while now, inspired by his off the beaten track adventures in Boris The Defender.

This month, we caught up with Jack to hear his top three places to explore right here in the UK, with a 4x4 and The Sandracer Vazon Bay.

1. DARTMOOR FORESTRY TRAIL

I am from Devon, so I have to include a spot that is local to me. This one is not difficult to complete, but it is one of the longer ones in the area and it's beautiful as you work your way through up into the moors.

Even though there are a lot of good off-road tracks in Devon, you never feel like you're that far away from civilisation. So, this one is good as it takes you through quite a large woodland and once you're halfway through you could be in the middle of nowhere.

I haven't put the exact location as it's nice to be able to find it for yourself but by all means message me on Instagram, come and visit and we can adventure together.

2. ELAN VALLEY

It seems that in the UK, Wales and Scotland are the places to go to get away from people. I've not yet been to Scotland in the defender but I cannot wait to go.

So for me Wales has been the location for great remote adventures and Elan Valley is a fantastic place to visit, not only because it's beautiful, but also for some great tracks. It's a great spot for a photography, so if you can go as a convoy and take friends with cameras, you can all get great shots while you're there.

There are many towering dams holding the weight of huge lakes and as you climb up into the valley you see more and more. Wales is unique for its wild camping and there are quite a few woodland camp spots where you really feel like you're in the middle of nowhere.

3. STRATA FLORIDA

Strata Florida?… In the UK?… Yes in fact it's in Wales. It's not quite as sunny and tropical as you would expect from the name, but it is a fantastic spot to get off the beaten track and explore with your 4x4. I've only been there once but hands-down I can say that it was one of the best spots for exploring and off roading.

Along the track you can park up and go on a little adventure. Just to the right of the track there is an old building you can use where people leave supplies and firewood, it’s a great spot to stop and explore.

In UK the off-road tracks can be quite limiting but this one really is one of the longest and you can spend the day here, I recommend it wholeheartedly.

With thanks to Jack Watson. You can find Jack and follow his travels on Instagram at @boris_the_defender and @jacko_watson
